Raymond D. Appleberry, Jr (born June 12, 1979) known by his stage name A.P. Appleberry. Appleberry is a rapper, record producer, entrepreneur, educator, and the co-founder of Parker Road Entertainment & Co. Raised in Memphis, TN, the Mitchell High School graduate, A.P. Appleberry took interest in music at an early age. In the “spring of 2008,” A.P. Appleberry released his first single “Do The Damn Thang,” which was followed by the indie project “The Green Light Project” in 2008. With his first independently released project “The Green Light Project” under his belt, A.P. Appleberry knew music was something he wanted to continue and had a passion for.
The release of Legend in The Making (Mixtape 2009), The Vault Vol.1 (Mixtape 2010), and Pretty Baby (Single 2010) followed The Green Light Project.
In July of 2012, Appleberry’s single “The Peabody” debuted on Memphis’ Hip-Hop Radio Station Hot 107.1 FM (Hot 901 @ 9) contest. Appleberry won the contest in a landslide receiving over 50,000 votes. In May of 2013 Appleberry’s single “Never in My Life” debuted on Memphis’ Hip-Hop Radio Station Hot 107.1 FM (Hot 901 @ 9) contest and Appleberry won the (Hot 901 @ 9) contest for the second time.
June 12, 2013, Appleberry released his 2nd independent album entitled The legend of Parker Road. The project featured both singles award winning singles The Peabody & Never In My Life. Appleberry did interviews with Texas based magazine Block 2 Block and Memphis’ online magazine MemphisRap.com to discuss winning the Hot (901 @ 9) and his new project The Legend of Parker Road. In September of 2013 Appleberry was name MemphisRap.com Artist of the Month.
In September 2014, Appleberry received the west coast Akademia Award for “Momma Said ft. Bodae” September Best HIP-HOP/SOUL song and released a mixtape AppleHeads Tha Mixtape. In January of 2015, Appleberry was nominated for (Southern Entertainment Award) 2015 S.E.A Slept on Artist of the Year.
Following the success of “The Legend of Parker Road” Appleberry toured as a featured artist on the (Get Money Stop Hatin Tour) one of the premiere Independent Hip-Hop/Rap tour’s in the U.S. While touring Appleberry started to develop a core group of fans that would travel with him from city to city. These fans would always be there to support his music. No matter where he went he could always find one person from the group standing front and center. In November of 2015, Appleberry released the first of a 3-part EP series entitled AppleHeads Vol. 1 (E.P. S1). The E.P. featured single “My Solo Cup” which is debuted on Dallas Hip-Hop Radio Station K-104, 89.3, and Dallas based internet radio station Fishbowl Radio. My Solo Cup also won the west coast Akademia Award for Best Rap/Southern Song. My Solo Cup was Appleberry’s 2nd Akademia Award. Appleheads, Vol. 1: (E.P. S2) and Appleheads Vol. 1(E.P. S3) followed in 2016.
